It has been a little more than twenty-four hours after an extraordinary event took place. An event sponsored by Cincinnati Christian Schools. They came together with their exceptional student body and faculty. They helped to celebrate and recognize Veterans Day in an exceptionally beautiful, thoughtful, and spiritually moving event that I am sure touched the Veterans in attendance and their families in a significant way. I know it did me!
This was a beautiful event for Veterans and their families. From the time of our arrival, we were greeted with respect and honor. I could not only appreciate the thought and effort that went into this time of recognition and compassionate reflection for members who served our country, but couldn’t help be moved by the concerted effort of everyone at Cincinnati Christian Schools. I certainly felt welcomed as a member of their family.
As a former Army Reservist assigned to the Army’s Medical Corp, I remember fondly the brotherly and sisterly bond that we as military members felt during our service years and continue to appreciate years after being separated from our military obligation. From the time we were escorted into the JH/SH gymnasium, we were welcomed as family; we were appreciated by astute student body speakers and harmoniously resonating choir participants; we were joined in the celebration of our National Anthem and Presentation of Colors; we shared in the recognition of our fallen members; and we reaffirmed our spiritual connectedness in Christ Our Lord. What a glorious day!
Speaking on behalf of all our military veterans, American Legion members, and our own Doug Dunaway Post 790 membership, we congratulate Cincinnati Christian Schools for making us feel welcome and allowing us to feel like family.
Thank You!
